You’re an EFL teacher with a high level of proficiency in English, that is, in the C1/C2 range. You want to continue developing your language and teaching skills but traditional language courses don’t respond to your needs or interests.
- You're highly motivated yet lack a supportive community to keep you on track.
- You love learning about new insights from fields like psychology and coaching.
- You enjoy discussing intellectually challenging texts like essays and short fiction.
The good news is that you’re not alone. Ethos English Lab is a community of English teachers who are passionate about EFL as a vehicle for positive social impact.
- a dynamic community of like-minded teachers who want to experiment with new approaches
- twice-monthly online gatherings based on challenging readings and podcasts
- self-study modules that include advanced writing skills, critical thinking, the lexical approach and more.
Introducing Ethos English Lab
Welcome to Ethos English Lab. I’m Sean, a CELTA and Delta (M2) qualified English teacher. I have a BA in Spanish and International Studies, an MA in Spanish literature, as well as a law degree from McGill University. I’m currently training to be an ICF-accredited coach with InterActualizer.
I grew up in Montréal, Canada in a bilingual environment. From a young age I’ve loved languages and am fluent in French, Spanish and I can get by in Catalan and German. What’s more, my first teaching experience was in French, which means I know first-hand the challenges a person faces when teaching a language which is not their mother tongue.
I’m thrilled to be launching this membership for EFL teachers like you who want to develop your full potential as a teacher and have lots of fun while doing so.

Frequently Asked Questions
This membership is intended for EFL teachers whose first language isn’t English who want to continue developing their language and teaching skills. My approach is especially well-suited to those teachers who teach students in the C1/C2 range and want to develop their formal, academic or professional English.
Advanced writing skills will be given special priority. We will also be exploring the lexical approach, critical thinking, learner autonomy and teacher well-being, to name a few key areas.
Class discussions will often be based on extended reading and listening tasks consisting of essays, short stories and podcasts. Thus, the ideal member is someone who is already keen on getting lots of challenging input in English and wants to find more structured ways to develop a high-impact learning practice.
A minimum level of C1 is expected of members.
In the first month of membership you can cancel at any time and get a full refund – no questions asked. After that your membership is on a monthly basis and you can cancel at any time. Your only commitment is for that month.
Once you cancel your membership you will no longer have access to the self-study materials and tutorials in the membership.
